A resident of Seattle, Washington, Gail Burgess found her ideal Ibizan Hound in California, after nearly a year of searching for the right breeder. Today she is the thrilled owner of two Ibizan Hounds, featured throughout this Web site: Ch. Makage Color Me Impressed, CD, NA, NAJ ("Squid"), and Ch. Luxor's Moon On Your Pyjamas ("Milo"). Milo was the author's first show dog, completing his Championship out of the puppy classes in 5 shows with 4 Majors, multiple BOW, and a BOB. Squid, a former top-winning conformation competitor, is preparing for Open obedience and agility trials. Milo is past the silly teenage stage, and is learning to "weave" (an agility maneuver).. | ||

A fourth time in the ring earned a score of 196, and clinched the title of top Ibizan Hound in obedience for the year 2000. |

The author first became interested in Competition Obedience when she began training a 10-year-old rescue afghan. Ollie entered the competition ring at the age of 11, earning a score of 191.5 out of a possible 200. He was retired shortly after, and died at the age of 13. All the patience, love, and trust developed with Ibizan Hounds had their beginning with this venerable Afghan, who taught the author everything he knew.
